Piolet d’Or awarded to Slovenians

The 16th Piolet d’Or award has been won by the Slovenian duo Boris Lorencic and Marko Prezelj for their first ascent of the 6,000-foot Northwest Pillar on the 24,000 ft Tibetan Peak Chomo Lhari. This is a second time win for Prezelj, having previously won the inaugural award in 1991.
